Walluf, 15.11.2005 - ACG Identification Technologies, a leading component and technology supplier in the smart card and RFID markets, announces today the launch of its new LF MultiTag Reader platform featuring support for both 125 kHz and 134.2 kHz transponders. This innovative multi-frequency capability enables the use of a single reader for multiple applications based on both of the two main low frequency technologies that have established themselves on the market. The LF MultiTag Reader platform also enables end-users to source low frequency ICs and transponders from a broader range of providers.
The LF MultiTag Reader platform is highly flexible and designed to support both security and safety requirements as well as speed and interoperability requirements of existing and emerging low frequency applications. The reader complies with different ISO standards, including ISO 11784, ISO 11785 and ISO 18000-2, as well as various de facto standards. The protocols of an extremely broad set of different transponder ICs are already implemented into the reader, facilitating integration of the device into existing applications.
Typical applications for ACG's LF MultiTag Reader Modules include access control, time &attendance, industrial automation, process control, logistics, supply chain management and animal identification & tracking.
The compact size of the ACG LF MultiTag Reader Modules allow for use in mobile terminals, small and compact terminals, and as add-ons to existing terminals. Both an OEM version and a plug-in version for mobile devices are available.
